Hi Everyone
June 10th, 2006 was the first time Perimeter Airlines landed at Lindbergh's Reindeer Lake Lodge and the first time we have had a Dash 8 land here. The Dash 8 is a 35-37 passenger twin engine turboprop aircraft. It is very similar to the Dash 7 that many of you have flown on over the last 3 years. The Dash 8 is faster and more economical to operate. The major difference between the two aircraft is the Dash 8 has two engines and travels at 300 mph, the Dash 7 has 4 engines but is much slower at 230 mph. The Dash 8 makes the 600 mile flight in two hours.
Trevor Rider, Perimeters Operations Manager along with the company's chief pilot crewed the flight. Guests on board were: the Portera group of 8, the Yeltons group of 4, the Gronmeyers 3, Ralph Desantis and Mark Smilek. Traveling on to Reilly Lake were Larry Masek 4 and Don Dickison 2 and Andy Star and his 4 went to MacKenzie Lake.
All reported a great flight.
Over the years many different types of aircraft have landed on the Lodge runway including: Cessn 172, 185, 206, 208 Caravan, 210, 310 402, Piper Seneca, Navajo, Chieftain, Beech King Air 100, 200 Beech 99, Beech 1900D, HS 748, Dash 7, Dash 8, PC 12, Dornier 228,

Don has fished & hunted many of the lakes in Northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He is an avid outdoors man. We hope to see Don back at the Lodge very soon.
Tight Lines Don !!!
Hi Everyone
Well its been 9 years since I purchased the lodge and through those years I have always wanted to catch a big Laker. Last Friday I did it. 38.5 inches long with a 22 inch girth. The charts say that is 23 pounds. My new goal is now a 40" Laker.
The fish was caught of the southern tip of Mosquito Island. Erroll Helkett was the guide and my fishing partner was my bank manager, Don Ledwos from the Royal Bank. Don spent 5 days with us and had a great time.
I also caught a 43.5 inch Northern the same day, June 9, 2006. The Northern was caught near Beaver Isalnd with an orange & gold hammered, silver back Daredevil. The Laker was caught on a half wave. Both favorite lures of mine.
Guest, Mark Smilek caught a 44.5 and a 40.5 inch Northern yesterday, June 10, 2006.
Good Fishing
Brian
Hi Everyone
Pictured above are Gord Drysdale of CBR Technologies and Trevor Rider of Perimeter Airlines, left side of pic, and Bill Chernick, far right, as well as two other Perimeter staff members following the runway inspection. Bill Chernick is the airlines assistant general manager. Perimeter Airlines will be flying a deHaviland of Canada Dash - 8 aircraft from Winnipeg to the Lodge this summer. Later in the season we will be using Perimeters Metroliners.
I will have a picture of the Dash - 8 on my next blog entry. The Dash - 8 is a 37 passenger twin engine turboprop that cruises at about 300 mph. This coming Saturday, June 10, is the first week for the lodge operation. I will also keep you updated on the fishing and the weather.
The last few days have been rainy and cold. Late last night it cleared off and today is a beautiful sunny day but a bit cool. We do have guests at Reilly Lake outpost and they have reported good fishing. The water levels are about the same as last year at this time.
Look forward to seeing everyone up here this summer.
