Perimeter Airlines first landing at Reindeer Lake

IMG_0448.JPG

Hi Everyone

June 10th, 2006 was the first time Perimeter Airlines landed at Lindbergh's Reindeer Lake Lodge and the first time we have had a Dash 8 land here. The Dash 8 is a 35-37 passenger twin engine turboprop aircraft. It is very similar to the Dash 7 that many of you have flown on over the last 3 years. The Dash 8 is faster and more economical to operate. The major difference between the two aircraft is the Dash 8 has two engines and travels at 300 mph, the Dash 7 has 4 engines but is much slower at 230 mph. The Dash 8 makes the 600 mile flight in two hours.

Trevor Rider, Perimeters Operations Manager along with the company's chief pilot crewed the flight. Guests on board were: the Portera group of 8, the Yeltons group of 4, the Gronmeyers 3, Ralph Desantis and Mark Smilek. Traveling on to Reilly Lake were Larry Masek 4 and Don Dickison 2 and Andy Star and his 4 went to MacKenzie Lake.

All reported a great flight.

Over the years many different types of aircraft have landed on the Lodge runway including: Cessn 172, 185, 206, 208 Caravan, 210, 310 402, Piper Seneca, Navajo, Chieftain, Beech King Air 100, 200 Beech 99, Beech 1900D, HS 748, Dash 7, Dash 8, PC 12, Dornier 228,
