Big Fish

IMG_0447.JPG

Hi Everyone

Well its been 9 years since I purchased the lodge and through those years I have always wanted to catch a big Laker. Last Friday I did it. 38.5 inches long with a 22 inch girth. The charts say that is 23 pounds. My new goal is now a 40" Laker.

The fish was caught of the southern tip of Mosquito Island. Erroll Helkett was the guide and my fishing partner was my bank manager, Don Ledwos from the Royal Bank. Don spent 5 days with us and had a great time.

I also caught a 43.5 inch Northern the same day, June 9, 2006. The Northern was caught near Beaver Isalnd with an orange & gold hammered, silver back Daredevil. The Laker was caught on a half wave. Both favorite lures of mine.

Guest, Mark Smilek caught a 44.5 and a 40.5 inch Northern yesterday, June 10, 2006.

Good Fishing
